TACTILE DIALOGUES: FRAGMENTS OF MATTER
Made By Morgen's Brunswick showroom became part of Melbourne Design Week, Australia's largest design festival, and one we'd been building toward for months.
For one weekend, our space held Tactile Dialogues: Fragments of Matter — the second edition of our exhibition, curated by Ryan Fernandes.
A week of material, process and memory
The exhibition brought together nine designers, artists and makers working across ceramics, glass, brass, algae-based materials, reclaimed polypropylene, timber, scent and sculptural form. Together, the works explored materiality, process and memory, and the many ways materials carry stories.
A week before the doors opened, Fisher & Paykel hosted a private preview of the exhibition at their Melbourne Experience Centre — bringing together a curated group of architects, interior designers and collectors for a first look at the work, joined by the team from Milieu Property. Both principal partners of Tactile Dialogues: Fragments of Matter.
The exhibition week itself opened with a dinner with Manzé, whose menu was created directly in response to the exhibition — a gathering of makers, collaborators and friends around the work.
